BSC have run the Wellbeing Warriors program during Term 2 and 3 and we have had wonderful feedback from students. Students have not only learnt important strategies to assist them with their own anxiety but they have also been able to bring those skills into the wider school community through sharing with other students, friends, family and even teachers! We feel this is the start of a process to embed such practices in the school.
Wendy has been a wonderful facilitator. Her experience as a teacher, her knowledge of working with young people and being a qualified yoga teacher have ensured students feel welcome, involved and safe which have allowed students to be comfortable in sharing their experiences of anxiety.
I certainly recommend this program highly for any school wanting more support around students anxiety and wellbeing.
Wendy is a highly skilled and well-rounded facilitator who uses her knowledge and compassion to create a safe environment for students. Wendy has taken theory and put it into practice in an engaging way that appeals to a range of students. We’re really grateful for Wendy having delivered Wellbeing Warriors to our students.
From a school wellbeing perspective and with a background in health and preventative medicine it’s obvious to me that Wellbeing Warriors is the result of many years of observation and consideration. The teenage experience is kept firmly central and is well balanced with expectation and ability. This is a program aimed keenly at those students dealing with anxiety that offers the opportunity for easy up-take physical practices and attitude alternatives complimentary to their needs.
